Accessible only by water or air, Mítico Puelo Lodge is the place for those who love and care for nature. Located in a privileged natural environment, it produces its own energy and the heating works with dead wood from the shores of the Tagua Tagua Lake.
Here, you can enjoy the comfort of its facilities after a good fishing day in one of the tributaries of the great Puelo River or kayaking beside a waterfall and down class III rapids. You can also practice Stand Up Paddle in the river or just jump on a boat with your whole family to visit some of the locals and enjoy the southern hospitality with a roasted lamb.
Those who like horseback riding can feel the strength, agility and mastery of the mountain horses crossing a river or facing a slope, while the guide, with his stories, adds a different ingredient to the experience. For the hikers, the lodge offers different trails and degrees of difficulty, from a half-day trek to a hidden lake or a long walk through its private park, to trips of 3 or 7 days to Argentina crossing the Patagonian Andes.
Another good alternative is just to relax and enjoy the exquisite cuisine, a lakeside picnic, to stroll through the gardens and trails nearby, read a good book, take a bath under a full moon or visit its vineyard boutique.
The park and the vineyard
Tagua Tagua Park has 3.000 acres of Valdivian forest. A quarter of this surface is populated by the magnificent Alerce tree and in the mountains there are two lagoons where two shelters have been built, waiting for visitors who dare to walk the 7.5 km between the Tagua Tagua Lake and the Alerces shelter or the 11 km between the lake and the Quetrus shelter. In charge of the Universidad Mayor, this park is research oriented and aims to educate visitors. Hence its slogan: Exploring knowledge.
The vineyard is in the area of influence of the famous microclimate Llanada Grande, latitudes that even allow, according to the locals, the harvest of melons. Based on these popular knowledge and observations by the winemaker, a half acre of Pinot Noir was planted, producing the first bottles of wine in the next wine season.
Mítico Puelo Lodge is located on the Southeast bank of Tagua Tagua Lake, in the commune of Cochamó, Región de Los Lagos. 140 km south of Puerto Varas, in the route to the mountains, facing the Tagua Tagua Park and 3 km away from the first winery in the Valdivian rainforest.
